And the data and reporting job?

Turning what the cameras see into something you can read and decide on: dashboards, regular reports and the analysis of whether the number holds up.

That last part is the important one and it is the one almost nobody does. A number that cannot be explained —where it comes from, from which camera, compared against what— is no use for deciding anything, and the moment somebody puts it in a board presentation it becomes a problem. Here the job includes saying when a figure is not ready to be shown.
