Questions · Working here

And a support technician, what exactly do they do?

Dealing with what breaks: diagnosing, sorting out remotely whatever can be sorted out and going out when it cannot. A fault comes in, you have to work out where it really comes from —which often is not where it looks— and leave it closed.

It is the job where you learn soonest how everything fails. A support technician sees in a few months more ways for a system to break than a field technician does in a good deal longer, because what reaches them is whatever did not work in dozens of different installations. That is why it is a good place to start even if it does not look like it.

The other half of the job is making sure the client does not have to ring: checking what each device is sending and opening the alert ourselves when a camera has gone blind and is still switched on as if nothing had happened.

A written answer is enough to decide whether it interests you. To know whether it works at your site you have to see it on a real scene, with the image as it is and, on top of it, what the system understands from it. That is on the IRIS Neural website, which is the group's product.
