What training is given and how do you learn here?
You learn by going out with somebody who has been doing it for years, and that is deliberate: nobody climbs a pole or works inside a panel on their own on the first day. You go with another person for as long as it takes, and whoever is in front has an explicit brief to teach and not only to finish the installation.
Far more goes through here than you see on a course. One project can take in cameras, access control, intruder detection, fire detection, the network that carries it, the servers that record it and the artificial intelligence that understands what it sees. And you work with many different manufacturers and platforms, not by hearsay: designing them, fitting them and maintaining them.
The part almost nobody teaches is the one worth most: why a project went wrong, which decision from three years ago is being paid for now and how you tell a client that what they are asking for cannot be done. That turns a technician into somebody people ask.
