To monitor the system do you have to be connected to my network?
A path is needed, yes, and it is built the opposite way round from what people fear: nothing is opened inwards. Either an agent installed on site that goes out through an encrypted tunnel and sends the status, or a controlled connection that the client authorises and can cut off.
What travels is status, not images: whether the camera answers, whether the drive is healthy, how many days of recording there are, how the battery is, what temperature the cabinet reads. Viewing video is a different matter, it needs permission and it has to be logged.
And the client has to be able to see who came in and when, and to close the access whenever they want. In banking and in public administration that is not a preference, it is a condition for being able to sign.

A written answer is enough to decide whether it interests you. To know whether it works at your site you have to see it on a real scene, with the image as it is and, on top of it, what the system understands from it. That is on the IRIS Neural website, which is the group's product.
