What is the difference between preventive and corrective maintenance?

The preventive part runs to a schedule and finds what has not failed yet: the field of view that was lost, the dirty lens, the drive starting to throw errors, the battery that no longer holds, the dusty detector, the alert going to the email of somebody who no longer works there. The corrective part is what is done once something has already broken.

Most of the expensive faults that reach us were things a properly done inspection would have seen months earlier. Not all: a lightning strike or a lorry turning a camera cannot be prevented. But most of the ones that leave somebody without a recording can.

And the preventive part is proven with a report. A visit with no report cannot be told apart from a visit that never happened, and that is exactly the most common trick in the sector.

A written answer is enough to decide whether it interests you. To know whether it works at your site you have to see it on a real scene, with the image as it is and, on top of it, what the system understands from it. That is on the IRIS Neural website, which is the group's product.
