What happens if I want to change maintenance company?
You leave with everything: the documentation, the licences in your name, the installation history and the administrator passwords. We do not hold on to access and we do not leave padlocks behind. A maintenance contract gets renewed because it is worth it, not because you cannot get out.
What we ask for is the same as we ask for when we take an installation over from somebody else: a handover meeting where it is put in writing what is fitted, what was done, what is outstanding and what was flagged and not approved. That protects both sides.
And it is worth looking at this question the other way round before signing with anybody: ask what you take with you if you leave. The answer says a good deal more about the contract than the annual total.
