Is a maintenance contract compulsory, and does it have to be with whoever installed the system?
Maintenance is compulsory; a contract with a particular company is not. What RIPCI requires is that the operations are done at their intervals and that the annual and five-yearly ones are carried out by an authorised maintenance company. Whether that is the company that installed it or another one is your choice, and moving from one to the other is legitimate and does not invalidate the installation.
In practice almost everybody signs a contract, because maintenance is not a visit: it is a calendar, a history and somebody to call when the control panel throws a fault on a Friday. What is worth looking at in the contract is what is in and what is out: travel, materials, reprogramming when a partition wall is moved, and out-of-hours attendance.
And a warning we prefer to give before signing rather than with the first invoice: meeting that calendar costs money every year, not only the year of the installation. A project quotation that leaves maintenance out to bring the final number down is not cheaper, it only looks it.

A written answer is enough to decide whether it interests you. To know whether it works at your site you have to see it on a real scene, with the image as it is and, on top of it, what the system understands from it. That is on the IRIS Neural website, which is the group's product.
