What is the specification for if there are already drawings?
The drawing says where; the specification says how, and it is the document you argue a badly executed job with. In it is which cable is accepted and which is not, how the brackets are fixed, how each line is labelled, what separation has to be kept from the electrical installation, how the cabinets are left, what finishes are accepted and what tests each part has to pass before it is signed off.
Without a specification all of that gets decided on site, and it gets decided by whoever has the tool in their hand, who almost always picks the quickest way. With a specification the argument is had beforehand and in writing, and anything that does not comply is rejected without it being a matter of opinion.
It is also what lets you really compare two offers. Two prices for the same list of material are not comparable if one runs the containment in accessible tray and the other in clips above the false ceiling.
