Why do the cameras reboot in the early hours in winter?
Almost always power. The heater in the housing starts up when the temperature drops, and what a camera with a heater and a zoom motor draws on a frosty night is nothing like the May afternoon when it was all tested. If the switch is tight on its power budget, it drops the last ports, and the camera reboots.
It is one of the hardest faults to find because it cures itself: in the morning everything is perfect and nobody sees anything odd when they look. The clue is in the switch's power history and in the exact time of the reboots, not in the camera, which usually ends up replaced for nothing.
The other common cause is the cable: if the run is long or the conductor is not pure copper, the voltage arriving at the far end falls short just when most is being asked of it. Both things are checked before anything is replaced.
