When we give you access to our cameras, who answers for those images?
You are the data controller; we are the processor. It sounds like a lawyers' distinction and it is the one that decides who answers when a complaint arrives: the controller is the one who decides what the recording is for, where the cameras go, how long it is kept and who can look. You decide that, because it is your installation, your risk and your operation.
We handle those images on your behalf and only for what you have asked us to do: install, configure, maintain, and go in and look when there is a fault or a tune-up. We cannot use them for anything else, we cannot keep them on our side on our own initiative, and we cannot bring a third party in without you knowing and authorising it.
Our access runs with named users and leaves a trace of who looked at what and who exported what. It is reasonable for you to require that by contract, and it is in the contract.
