What has to be plugged into the backup power supply?
The whole chain: the cameras, the switches that power them, the recorder, the storage, the equipment that provides the link to the outside and the workstation it is watched from. The most repeated mistake is backing up the recorder and not the switches: the recorder stays on, perfectly, recording nothing, because the cameras are powered from the switch and the switch is off.
The same with the intruder panel, with the readers and with the door devices that have to stay controlled during the outage, which is a security decision and not an electrical one: there are doors that have to stay open and others closed.
And it is worth deciding what does not go on the backup as well. A large monitor, a printer or an air conditioning unit plugged in there eat up the standby time of what did matter.
