Why do you not start by choosing the brand?

Because the make is the last decision and not the first, and taking it earlier forces the problem to fit the catalogue. First comes what has to be achieved at each point —seeing that there is somebody, recognising a person you already know or identifying a stranger; finding out that something happened or being able to prove it—. Then, what technology can deliver that in that particular place. And only then, which manufacturers do it well and which one fits what is already there, who is going to maintain it and what you want to be able to extend.

Starting with the make produces the most expensive and most common mistake: an installation where every point is a correct product and the whole does not answer the question asked at the beginning. Nobody chose wrongly; it is that nobody chose with a criterion.

No make is better than another in the abstract. You can say what each one fits and what it does not, and that depends on the installation. When somebody gives you the make before having seen the place, they are telling you what they sell, not what you need.

See it working.

A written answer is enough to decide whether it interests you. To know whether it works at your site you have to see it on a real scene, with the image as it is and, on top of it, what the system understands from it. That is on the IRIS Neural website, which is the group's product.
