The security of your event in expert hands

Security specialising in mass events

At Westpoint we know that a successful mass event takes much more than good functional organisation. The safety of the attending public is just as critical. With years of experience in physical security, we have developed specialist services to protect every kind of temporary event, from mass concerts to corporate conferences.

We understand what the client needs and we provide electronic security to the highest standard.

complete temporary security services for events

At Westpoint we understand that security is not limited to permanent installations. Temporary mass events such as concerts, conferences, trade fairs and exhibitions also need proper measures in place to protect the attending public.

Our services in this field can be provided directly by our own staff when the event takes place in our region of direct operation.

But we also have agreements with qualified technology partners in other regions, who act as our representatives to deliver temporary installations to our own high standards.

Prior analysis and design of the solution

The process begins with a detailed analysis of the physical place where the event will be held. Our specialists survey the characteristics of the site: dimensions, number of vehicle and pedestrian entrances, position of buildings and structures, obstacles, recreation areas, and anything else relevant to security.

We also assess in detail factors such as the expected number of attendees, the likely density and distribution of the crowd, the type of activities to be held, the timetable, the total duration of the event, the expected weather conditions, potential threats, and other operational variables.

With all of that, our specialist staff draw up a full risk map, which makes it possible to identify the critical points to be covered and the security resources needed. On that basis a plan is designed for the specific event.

Usual components

While every solution is adapted to the particulars of each case, there is a set of security components that typically form part of our complete proposals for temporary events:

· CCTV cameras: temporary cameras monitored from a centralised control room provide live surveillance.

· Signs and wayfinding: orientation signs help guide the movement of people. Others give key information about exits, facilities, prohibitions and so on.

· Extinguishers and detectors: placed at set distances in line with the standards, they allow rapid control of a fire in its early stages.

· Occupancy control: the only solution on the market approved for occupancy control at events

Professional set-up and installation

With the final design approved by the organiser, our specialist technical staff carry out the tidy set-up and installation of every component to the agreed timings. The work needed to prepare the site is carried out: marking out zones, putting up barriers, posts and information signs. Every electronic and electrical component is installed and verified, making sure it works correctly. Finally, full tests are run on all the interconnected systems: the control room, the cameras, the public address system, the emergency lighting and the radio links. All the work follows strict protocols, checking that each step is met to guarantee quality. That way, by the time the event starts, the security installation is 100% operational.

Management and monitoring during the event

While the event is running, our staff take over the operation of every security component, either on site or remotely from our control room. People coming in are monitored live, and internal circulation and the direction of mass flows between the different areas are managed. Any congestion or crowding is acted on quickly to bring the situation back to normal. The camera images are watched at all times, and drones make periodic reconnaissance flights. The state of the systems is checked constantly, and resources are moved in response to anything that comes up. The security staff receive instructions and coordinate their actions over the radio network. Instructions and advice for the public are broadcast over the public address system as needed. In this way we take charge of every aspect of security during the event, bringing our long experience of large crowds. That lets the organiser concentrate fully on how the event runs and on looking after the attendees.

Dismantling and removal

Once the event has finished, our engineers dismantle all the temporary installations quickly and in an orderly way.

External structures such as barriers and signs, along with all the electronic and electrical equipment, are removed, leaving the site in exactly the condition it was in before the set-up.

We also carry out a thorough clean, removing any waste left in the area. Finally, a last inspection walk is done to check that nothing related to the event's security has been left behind.

So our complete service includes dismantling and tidy restoration once the event is over, quickly freeing the space for its usual use.
