Where should you never put a camera?
There are four places that give guaranteed trouble. Facing straight into the rising or the setting sun, because no compensation saves a sun on the axis and the sensor suffers as well. Behind glass, because the infrared bounces off the pane and gives back the camera's own reflection, and because at night the glass reflects the whole room. Above a heat source or right next to a light fitting, because it attracts insects and spiders that set off the motion detection every night. And anywhere a branch, a flag or a sign comes into the field of view, because they will move in the wind and fill the system with alerts.
To that you have to add the places the law flatly forbids: changing rooms, toilets, locker rooms, canteens and rest areas. That is not a technical recommendation, and it does not depend on signage or on the workers agreeing to it.
And there is a fifth place that is not illegal but gets paid for in the end: the recorder inside the same premises being watched, and in plain sight. It is the first thing they take, and with it go the images of whoever took it.
