The car park goes off with exhaust fumes and with pressure washing, what can be done?

In a car park the detection is normally done with heat detectors and not optical ones, precisely because of the exhaust fumes, the steam from cleaning and the dust. CTE requires detection in conventional car parks above 500 m² of built floor area, and each storey is usually its own fire compartment.

Where you need to find out sooner —bays with electric vehicle chargers, car parks under hospital or residential use— it is reinforced with heat-sensitive cable along the line of bays or with aspirating detection, which copes better with that environment and leaves the detector accessible outside the ceiling. Robotic car parks, which nobody goes into, CTE treats separately.

And watch what is already in place: in many garages the fire detection lives alongside the CO detectors that start the fans. They are two separate installations, with separate maintenance, and confusing them is why sometimes one gets inspected and the other is taken as inspected too.
